Summary
These Coins Terms are part of our Terms of Service. Our Refund Policy explains how refund requests and Coin reversals work.
1. What Portals Coins are
Portals Coins (or Coins) are an in-app balance that can be used only for eligible purchases within Portals. Coins are recorded on your Portals Account and are separate from AI Lab credits, subscriptions, and any cryptocurrency or external wallet balance.
- Coins are shown and transferred only as whole numbers.
- Coins do not expire under our current policy.
- Coins cannot currently be withdrawn, redeemed, or exchanged for cash by users or Creators.
- Buying or earning Coins does not create a promise that those Coins will qualify for a future conversion program or rate.
2. Buying Coins
You may buy Coin packs through the Services using the pack size, number of Coins, price, currency, taxes, and payment method shown before checkout. Card purchases are processed by Stripe. Available packs and prices are shown on the Coins page and may vary by location or payment method.
A Coin-pack purchase is complete only after Portals receives confirmation from the payment processor and credits the Coins to your Account. If the confirmation is delayed, do not repeat the purchase; check your wallet or contact support@theportal.to.
3. Using Coins
Portals items
Coins may be used for eligible items, listings, or transactions on Portals. The item page shows what you receive and any license, supply, resale, game, or account restriction that applies.
Products inside games
A published game may offer registered consumables or permanent unlocks at a fixed Coin price. Before you confirm, Portals shows the product, game, Creator, description, grant, Coin price, balance change, and any per-player purchase limit. The game cannot choose a different price or charge your wallet without the Portals confirmation.
Permanent unlocks are owned once. Consumables add the stated quantity to your Portals-managed game inventory and may be used by the game. Creator descriptions must accurately explain the grant and any gameplay requirement.
4. Prices, eligibility, and limits
- Registered game products are priced from 10 through 5,400 Coins.
- Game purchases are subject to account, product, game, daily-spending, safety, and rollout limits enforced by Portals.
- Real game-product purchases are available only to Accounts that Portals has determined are at least 18 and eligible for the active rollout.
- Availability may be limited by location. If Portals cannot establish required eligibility, the purchase is unavailable.
A product or checkout may apply a lower price or purchase limit. Portals will show that limit before confirmation and may lower safety limits or pause new purchases where needed to protect users or the Services.
5. No direct user-to-user transfers
You may not send, gift, sell, pool, or otherwise transfer Coins directly to another user. Portals may move Coins only through an authorized transaction, such as a Coin-pack credit, an eligible purchase, a Creator sale credit, a refund, or an administrative correction.
Attempts to sell Coins or Accounts outside Portals, disguise a transfer as a purchase, or manipulate related Accounts may result in a purchase freeze, reversal, or Account review.
6. Creator Coin earnings
When a buyer completes an eligible primary Coin purchase from a Creator, Portals credits that Creator the full Coin price. Portals does not deduct a Coin platform fee from that primary sale. A refund or reversal may claw back the exact related Creator credit.
A Creator must maintain an active Portals Account in good standing and current Stripe Connect verification before enabling real Coin-priced products. Stripe verification does not make Coin earnings withdrawable for cash.
7. Refunds and reversals
Coin-pack refund requests and purchases made with Coins are different transactions. The Refund Policy explains the applicable process, exceptions, statutory rights, and information to send support.
For a game-product refund, the launch system supports a full reversal of the exact receipt. Portals returns the Coin price to the buyer, reverses the related Creator credit, and revokes or adjusts the related game grant where possible. Partial game-product refunds are not currently supported.
8. Tax
Prices may include or exclude taxes as shown at checkout. You are responsible for taxes that apply to your activities. Creators are responsible for reporting Coin-related earnings where required. Portals and Stripe may collect tax information or issue forms when required by applicable law.
9. Safety, freezes, and clawbacks
Portals may block a purchase, freeze Coin spending, hold a Creator sale, or reverse an affected transaction when reasonably necessary to address suspected fraud, unauthorized Account use, payment disputes, duplicate value, policy violations, or legal requirements. We will provide notice when reasonably possible and preserve records needed to review the action.
A Creator balance may become negative after an authorized clawback. While negative or restricted, the Creator may be unable to spend affected Coins or enable new Coin products until the issue is resolved.
10. Changes and termination
We may change Coin packs, purchase limits, product eligibility, or these Coins Terms. We will provide advance notice of material changes when required by law. Urgent safety, fraud, or legal controls may take effect immediately.
If Portals discontinues the Coin program, we will publish a wind-down plan explaining the period for continued eligible use and the treatment of remaining balances. Discontinuation does not create a user or Creator right to cash redemption except where required by law or separately offered in the wind-down plan.
