1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags. We use these to operate the Services, remember your preferences, and understand how the Services are used.

2. Categories we use

  • Strictly necessary: required for the Services to work — authentication, session management, security, load balancing, and basic site navigation. These cannot be turned off without breaking core functionality.
  • Functional: remember your preferences, such as language and display settings.
  • Analytics and product: help us understand how Users interact with the Services so we can improve them. Current providers include Mixpanel and PostHog.
  • Marketing and messaging: measure campaign performance, send product messages, and reach people who may be interested in Portals. Current providers include Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager (and Twilio SendGrid for email delivery, which does not set cookies on this site).

3. Specific cookies and technologies

The list below summarizes the main cookies and similar technologies we currently use. For the full list of third-party services that process your personal information — including the purpose of each engagement and the categories of data each one handles — see our Subprocessors page, which is the canonical record.

  • Session and authentication cookies set by Portals to keep you signed in.
  • Stripe sets cookies for fraud prevention when you view a page with a Stripe element. Stripe Cookie Policy.
  • Mixpanel stores a device identifier in local storage to associate usage events with a pseudonymous ID. Mixpanel Privacy Policy.
  • PostHog event analytics and session-level instrumentation. PostHog Privacy Policy.
  • Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager for website analytics and tag management. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Other tools we test may set cookies or local-storage identifiers while they are enabled. Where they do, they appear in our cookie banner under the relevant category and can be declined.

4. Managing cookies

On your first visit from the EU, EEA, UK, or California, you will see a cookie banner where you can accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choices at any time by clicking “Cookie settings” in the site footer.

You can also clear or block cookies through your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Services will not work.

5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We currently do not respond to browser Do Not Track (DNT) signals because no common standard for DNT exists. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of “sale” or “sharing” under the CCPA/CPRA and similar laws, where that concept applies.
