1. Overview
Portals respects intellectual property rights and expects Users to do the same. This policy explains how to notify us of content you believe infringes your copyright, and how a User whose content was removed can file a counter notice.
We follow the notice-and-takedown process of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. Nothing in this policy limits other rights or remedies you may have.
2. Filing a DMCA notice
If you own a copyright in content that has been posted to the Services without your authorization, send a written notice to our Designated Agent (see Section 5) that includes all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, for multiple works at a single site, a representative list).
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail to let us locate it (for example, a URL within the Services).
- Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
We will review complete notices promptly. If we remove content in response, we will notify the User who posted it.
3. Filing a counter notice
If your content was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter notice to our Designated Agent including:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal court in the district where you live (or, if outside the U.S., the District of Delaware), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.
If we receive a valid counter notice, we may restore the material after 10 business days unless the original complainant files a lawsuit against you in that time.
4. Repeat-infringer policy
Portals terminates, in appropriate circumstances, Accounts of Users who are repeat infringers of copyright or other intellectual-property rights.
