The spirit of Portals

Portals is a place to build, play, and share games and worlds together. These Community Guidelines are a plain-language version of what we expect from everyone here. For the full rules, see our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service. When the two conflict, the AUP and Terms control.

Treat people well

  • Be kind. Disagree without personal attacks. No harassment, threats, hate speech, or targeted abuse.
  • Respect consent and privacy. Do not post other people’s personal information, photos, or messages without permission.
  • Keep interactions with minors safe. Sexual or exploitative contact with anyone under 18 is never allowed and will be reported.
  • No impersonation of other Users, Portals staff, or public figures in a way meant to deceive.

Make great stuff — and play fair

  • Build and share what you love. Games, spaces, asset packs, avatars, AI experiments — all welcome within the rules.
  • Credit the people whose work you build on. Do not claim someone else’s creation as your own.
  • Use the self-rating system honestly. Tag mature content as Mature so it only reaches the right audience.
  • No cheating, exploits, or manipulation of rankings, reviews, or payouts. No wash-trading or fake purchases.

Share safely

  • No sexually explicit content, CSAM, real-world violence glorification, gore, doxing, or illegal content. See the AUP for the full list.
  • No malware, phishing, or scams. Do not try to steal accounts, credentials, or money.
  • No spam. Send messages people actually want to read. Bulk or automated messaging is not allowed.
  • Keep your own account safe. Do not share your password. Report suspicious activity to security@theportal.to.

Reporting and enforcement

If something is wrong — someone is harassing you, content crosses a line, a listing is a scam — use the in-product report button, or email trust@theportal.to.

We take action in proportion to what we find: a warning, a removal, a feature restriction, a suspension, or a permanent ban. Severe violations can result in immediate termination and reporting to law enforcement. If you believe we made a mistake in an enforcement decision, reply to the notification we sent and we will review.
