Light Source
Use Light Source for a local point of light, such as a lamp, doorway glow, or highlight around an important object. It complements the room-wide settings in Environment.
Add and tune a light
- Open Tools and choose Light Source.
- Place the light near the object or area it should illuminate.
- Select it and set its color, brightness, and range.
- Turn on Only night if it should appear only in the room's night state.
- Test from the player path, not just from the build view.
What the settings mean
- Color changes the tint of the local light.
- Brightness controls the light intensity.
- Range controls how far from the light its effect reaches.
- Only night keeps the light off during the day state.
Put a light slightly above the object it should reveal. A light at ground level can create harsh shadows or make its source hard to understand.
Example: guide a player to a portal
Place one light above a portal, use a color that contrasts with the wall, and set a range that reaches the approach path without lighting the whole room. Switch between Day and Night to make sure the portal is still clear.
