Physics: Add Torque
What it does
Physics: Add Torque gives the selected item one immediate spin when the task runs.
Required item compatibility
Select a physics-capable shape or 3D model that offers this effect in its Tasks panel. The effect can create temporary physics when needed. Turn on Has Physics in item settings when the item should begin with physics enabled or retain that authored setup.
Configure it outside Build Mode, then test it in normal play.
Setup
- Select the physics-enabled item to spin.
- Add Physics: Add Torque to the task state where the spin should happen.
- Set the spin direction and test from the task's starting state.
Settings
| Setting | What it means |
|---|---|
| Torque X | Adds spin around the item's left-to-right direction. |
| Torque Y | Adds spin around the item's up-and-down direction. |
| Torque Z | Adds spin around the item's forward-and-back direction. |
| Relative To Cube | Uses the item's own rotated directions when enabled. Leave off to use the space's fixed directions. |
Tiny example
A propeller's Active task gives the propeller a short spin when a machine starts.
Test and troubleshoot
- Start with one small value at a time so you can see which direction it controls.
- Physics can change with collisions and item shape. Test moving items with a second player in a live room.
- Use Physics: Stop Motion when the interaction needs a clear reset.
