Physics: Stop Motion
What it does
Physics: Stop Motion stops the selected item's current movement and spin when the task runs.
Required item compatibility
Select a physics-capable shape or 3D model that offers this effect in its Tasks panel. Physics: Stop Motion needs an existing physics body, so turn on Has Physics in item settings before using it unless an earlier effect has already made the item physical.
Configure it outside Build Mode, then test it in normal play.
Setup
- Select the physics-enabled item to stop.
- Add Physics: Stop Motion to the task state where it should run.
- Test the effect after the item has started moving.
Settings
Physics: Stop Motion has no extra public settings.
Tiny example
A finish-zone task stops a rolling ball at the end of a course.
Test and troubleshoot
- This stops current movement; it does not prevent later gravity, collisions, or effects from moving the item again.
- Pair it with Physics: Toggle Gravity when an item should remain suspended.
- Test with a second player in a live room, since moving physics items can take a moment to settle.
