Toggle Free Camera

What it does

Enters or exits free-camera mode for the local player and can position the camera relative to the player.

Required item compatibility

Add it through a compatible item that shows this effect in its Tasks panel.

Setup

  1. Select the item that should perform this effect.
  2. Add Toggle Free Camera to the task state where it should run.
  3. Configure the settings below and test the player path from the task’s starting state.

Settings

Setting What it means
Enter Free Cam Enter or exit free-camera mode.
X, Y, Z Offset Initial camera offset from the player.
Look At Player Points the camera at the player after positioning it.

Tiny example

A photo-mode task enters free camera above and behind the player, looking back at them.

Test and troubleshoot

  • Always provide an exit action from free-camera mode.
  • Test offsets in the actual area because walls and terrain change the experience.
