Play Emote

What it does

Makes the player who activates the task play a named emote. It is useful for reward moments, social interactions, and short celebration beats.

Setup

  1. Select the item or trigger that starts the interaction.
  2. Add Play Emote to the task state that should perform the emote.
  3. Enter the exact emote name available in Portals.
  4. Decide whether moving should stop the emote, then test as a player.

Settings

Setting What it means
Emote Name Exact name of the emote to play.
Moving Stops Emoting When enabled, the player's movement stops the emote.

Tiny example

Completing a collectible task plays a celebration emote for the player who collected the final item.

Test and troubleshoot

  • Check spelling and capitalization if the expected emote does not start.
  • An empty emote name does not start a new emote.
  • Test while moving if the experience depends on the movement option.
